Water Scarcity Panel Discussion On Texas Public Radio’s ‘The Source’
As the water crisis in our region continues, I joined a panel discussion on Texas Public Radio’s daily call-in talk show, The Source, with David Martin Davies on Wednesday, August 3, 2022.
The topic was water scarcity on the Texas-Mexico border.
Martin Castro, watershed science director, and Sheila Serna, climate science policy directory — both from the Rio Grande International Study Center — joined the panel as we took calls on the air.
Aside from hydrology research scientist Dr. Jude A. Benavides, Castro and Serna were two sources who lent invaluable insight into the Rio Grande watershed for my Texas Public Radio Story, “Water becomes a black market south of the border, experts say scarcity could impact Texas border communities soon”.
